Hours of Operation: Veterinary service is available 24 hours a day with our regular hours listed below. During regular business hours appointments can be scheduled for both large and small animal health care simply by contacting our reception staff. Appointments: While appointments are preferred, walk-in patients are treated as promptly as possible. Emergencies are always given priority and we appreciate our clients' understanding and flexibility when an emergency delays us from getting to their appointment at the scheduled time. It is our goal to keep our clients informed about changes that may delay our arrival to their appointment as best we can. We also offer a variety of drop-off options for those clients who find it difficult to schedule an appointment during our available appointment times. Animals can be dropped off early in the morning or anytime during the day. Following an initial physical exam, a doctor or staff member will contact the owner with their findings and recommendations so that a treatment plan can be established. For more information about scheduling an appointment or individual scheduling requests, please contact our reception staff. Obtaining emergency veterinary services outside of regular business hours is quite simple. Afterhours, calls to our regular business number are automatically transferred to our answering service. Our answering service collects the information necessary to handle the call appropriately and then does so. For small animal emergencies, our doctors are available for several hours to answer your questions and to help determine if a pet needs to be seen. Those pet requiring a veterinary visit are referred to Animal Emergency Care (AEC) in Bellingham for evaluation and treatement. Kulshan has partnered with Animal Emergency Care to provide quality veterinary service to our patients outside of regular office hours and recieves a report each morning detailing us on those patients that visited within the past 24 hours. Late night and early morning calls to our answering service are connected directly to AEC. For large animal emergencies, the large animal doctor on call will be paged and will then contact the client. Depending on the nature of the emergency, appropriate action can be taken. Kulshan's doctors pride themselves on their quick response to pages and generally respond within five to ten minutes. Unfortunately, other emergencies and/or technological glitches can delay this response time and so we request that if you haven't heard from us within ten to fifteen minutes, please call again.
Holidays*: Kulshan is closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just as with weekends and afterhours, veterinary service is available on an emergency basis.
*Veterinary calls performed afterhours will be subject to additional charges.
